How much do the bid packages cost?
Each bid costs 30p, available in "Bid Packages" of 30, 50, 100, 200, or a special £100 package which buys you 360 bids and brings each bid down to just over 27p. Once you click on the package you want you will be taken to the PayPal login page.
Bids are added to your account as soon as you pay for them. If you haven't received your bids within a couple of hours, please email us at info@goldenbids.co.uk and we will look into the matter for you.
Purchasing bids
Once you have opened an account and have logged in you can purchase bids in packages. To cater for all budgets, Goldenbids packages start at just £9 for 30 Bids. The various packages available are shown when you click into "My Account" at the top of the Home Page. Select the link "Purchase Bids" in the left hand column and click into "Purchase Bids using PayPal".
When I have bought my bids - what happens next?
This is where the fun starts! Once you have purchased your bids, go back to the Home Page and select which item you wish to purchase if your bid is successful. Just click on the "Bid" button! It’s as easy as that! Remember Goldenbids is an online auction and you might not win the item you want with just one bid, you might need to place more to win the auction, and even then, there are no guarantees your bids will be successful. Your success with any auction is dependent upon how many other users are bidding on the same item as you. You can view the bids that you and other users have placed under 'Bid history' on the right hand side of the auction item that you are bidding on. Remember, even if you are unsuccessful in any auction the cost of all unsuccessful bids will be credited to your account and will be deducted from the cost of a future successful purchase, on the condition that such a successful purchase takes place within 45 days of your unsuccessful auction.
How Do I Use my Bid Buddy?
You can place a bid by simply clicking the "Bid" button on an item, or you can use the bid buddy system. The bid buddy system is in place to bid for you. If you need to leave your computer, or go out, you can use the bid buddy system - in fact you don’t even need to leave your computer on! If an auction looks like it is about to end and you want to go to bed, just set up your bid buddy, turn your computer off and go to bed. The following morning you might find that you have purchased the item of your dreams at a significant discount!
Setting my Bid Buddy up
To start your bid buddy simply click on the "book my bid” link on any item.
You need to tell the bid buddy the following instructions
1. What price you would like it to “Start” bidding for you
2. What price you would like to "End" your bidding
3. The number of "Bids" you would like to use
Once you have instructed your bid buddy to do the work for you, just click on "Add a bid buddy" and your bid buddy will bid on your behalf. The Bid Buddy will only start bidding on your behalf when the bidding has reach the amount you specified in your bid buddy setup, as detailed above.
In order to give you the best chance of winning the auction your bid buddy will start to bid when there are less than 10 seconds to go to the finish of the auction. The seconds remaining when bid buddy bids for you will vary – this is to ensure that other users bidding on the same product as you will not know when you bid buddy is bidding. You should note that unless you instruct your bid buddy to bid enough times you might not necessarily have enough bids to reach the end and may risk losing your item to another bidder.
What if the auction ends before my bid buddy starts?
If you set your bid buddy start price to high, the bid buddy will not bid, don’t worry though, as all your bids will be refunded back as they were unused.
If there is more that one bid buddy running at the same time by rival bidders, your bid buddy will rapidly bid on your behalf to overtake the rival bidder, and as we have stated previously for every bid 10 seconds is added to the auction, so if your bid buddy placed bids on 10 occasions for you, 100 seconds would be added to the auction end time. If you don’t have enough bids to overtake your rivals you will have to either manually bid or setup a new bid buddy instruction.
How do I cancel a Bid?
If you have manually placed a bid, by clicking on the "Bid" button, you cannot cancel the bid and the bid cannot be refunded. You can however cancel bids that you have setup in your bid buddy system by clicking on "Delete" although you cannot cancel your bids once the bidding has reached the "Start" price at which you requested auto-bid to start bidding for you.
How can I monitor the status of my bids while I am bidding?
By signing in on the Home Page and clicking into "My Account" you will see a number of available selections on the left hand side of the page. If you prefer you can click on the links below which will take you to the relevant pages:
